What We Do

We believe we can change the trajectory of the lives of vulnerable youth in Ecuador to create generational change.

In Christ Jesus you are all children of God. (Galations 3:26)

Maria’s Story

Meet Maria, at 11 years old she found herself pregnant.  This child who should be filled with joy and innocence is instead heavy with fear and confusion.  Maria was sexually abused by a close family member, her childhood forever changed.  Maria's mother is bedridden due to a vascular condition, her father makes just three dollars a day at work.  Maria herself, is just trying to finish elementary school; the intensity of this situation is overwhelming. Thankfully, her family has chosen to report the crime, they are standing up against the darkness, despite the looks, the judgment and the cultural stigmas.  They may not see the ripple effects of their strength just yet, but they will, and Prosperina Mission is determined to help those ripples become waves of change across the region.

Unfortunately, Maria’s situation is all too common. That’s where the holistic support of Prosperina Mission steps in to help these young moms and their families receive support for food and clothing as well as medical exams, counseling and resources to empower them to live out their God given purpose.

Nearly half of yearly births in Ecuador are to adolescent girls.

Nearly half of Ecuador's adolescent pregnancies involve abuse, with the majority occurring within the family circle.

Initiative 1: Path of Hope

This program provides comprehensive support to sexually abused girls aged 10-17 in the Manabí province of Ecuador. These girls are now mothers as a result of the trauma they have endured. We provide specialized assistance tailored to meet the unique needs of these young girls, including food, shelter, clothing, baby supplies, psychological care, education, occupational training, and legal aid. The program is administered by our local team which includes a full-time social worker and psychologist.

Initiative 2: Naomi’s Village

Between 2023 - 2027, we will construct Naomi’s Village, a safe and secure housing for 40 girls who have endured the pain of sexual abuse, and in some cases, pregnancy. Naomi's Village will be a sanctuary, providing a nurturing haven for both the girls and their babies. In addition to offering a safe place to live, we will ensure onsite access to vital services, including medical care, mental health support, legal representation, education, and job training.

Initiative 3: Youth Ministry

In 2023 - 2024, we will invest in the launch of a youth ministry program in partnership with local experts. Through proven Christian youth programs like Young Life, we will create a safe and supportive space for the youth to thrive, empowering them to experience profound spiritual growth.
