Profile: David Zea, Master Barista
Melodie and I first met David in a basement meeting hall in Portoviejo, Ecuador on June 12, 2023. He was a tall, lanky, well-dressed young man with jet-black hair, dark skin, and a brilliant engaging smile. During the 6 days of our visit, that description always fit perfectly, with the frequent addition of a barista’s apron. The occasion was a meeting of local church leaders to discuss youth ministry in that city as well as the nearby city of Jipijapa. David spoke passionately about the great spiritual need, and ways that need can be met. We knew then that we had met an exceptionally gifted young man.
Serving More Abused Girls
The urgent need of Ecuadorian girls becoming pregnant through sexual abuse cannot wait for Naomi’s Village to be complete, and we are caring for a growing number of girls in any ways we can.
Land Donated for Naomi’s Village
On June 16, a grand celebration took place. The Boards of Prosperina Mission and La Prosperina Foundation, along with many guests and dignitaries, gathered on the future site of Naomi’s Village to witness the formal land donation.
