About Us

We are a group of Christians on a mission to empower Ecuador's vulnerable youth for generational change.

Our Story

In 2018, Ron and Nicki Coil purchased “Hacienda La Prosperina”, a century-old coffee plantation in the province of Manabí, Ecuador. With a growing love for the community, God called upon them to use the plantation to serve vulnerable youth and share the Gospel in the name of Jesus Christ.

In 2023, the Coils established the US-based non-profit Prosperina Mission with a vision to empower and transform the lives of these vulnerable youth. They also generously donated a significant portion of their picturesque coffee farm to support sexually abused girls in Ecuador.

Prosperina Mission, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation under U.S. laws and incorporated in the state of Idaho.

Ecuadorian Partners

Our primary local partner in Ecuador is La Prosperina Foundation, a Christian non-profit that is recognized by the Ecuadorian Ministry of Economic and Social Inclusion. Their vision is to restore lives and empower the vulnerable through the transforming love of Jesus Christ.

Their primary initiative, Naomi’s Village, provides integrated care for girls younger than 18 who have experienced sexual abuse and, in some cases, are pregnant by a close member of their family.

Their team is comprised of highly qualified individuals: Floridalva Zambrano Pinagrote (Attorney at Law), Andrea Maria Pinagrote Quinteros (Attorney and Family Judge), Lucila Quinteros (Economist and Accountant), Lidia Aleonor Moscoso Vera (Pediatrician specializing in adolescents), Cecibel Campos (Pediatrician), Luz Marina Alava Fernandez (Gynecologist specializing in adolescents)

Prosperina Mission is focused on funding Christian non-profits in the province of Manabí, located on the west coast of Ecuador. According to the United Nations website “only 36% of Manabi's 1.5 million inhabitants have access to basic services, compared to 50% nationwide. They face a lack of connectivity, adequate sewage systems, and potable water, exacerbated by high vulnerability to natural disasters.” The challenging socio-economic situation in Manabí significantly affects its youth, underscoring the critical need for area support.

Our key partners in Ecuador base their operations out of Manabí’s capital Portoviejo. The location of the planned community, Naomi’s Village, is located in the town of Jipijapa.
